LIVE BLOG: 740 fans donated, $231K raised for Family Eldercare Summer Fan Drive AUSTIN (KXAN) — For more than 30 years, Family Eldercare has been running a Summer Fan Drive to keep people cool amid Texas' summer heat.This year's drive comes on a week with multiple days in a row topping out over 100°. KXAN meteorologists forecast the excessive heat will continue for the next one to two weeks. On Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., people can drop off their fans at KXAN, Roger Beasley Mazda locations and Whittlesey Landscape Supplies. They can also donate online. KXAN will be tracking the number of fans collected and money raised and will share updates in this story. The crash took place just before 9 a.m. on County Route 153 just east of Beattie Hollow Road in the town of Salem. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Parts of North St. Louis County were hit hard by severe storms that rolled through the St. Louis region Friday from the late afternoon to early evening hours. FOX 2 had learned about tree branches and powerlines that came down near the Spanish Lake area, likely due to strong winds. No injuries have been reported as of Friday evening. St. Louis radar: See a map of current weather here One section of Larimore Street is blocked off as emergency crews have arrived to the scene. A tree fell on at least one resident's home. The latest severe storm brought lightning, heavy rain and damaging winds around the region. Some communities also dealt with hail and flood risks. WATCH: Fast-moving wildfire breaks out in Riverside County, 2,800 acres and growing Firefighters are battling a large fast-moving wildfire that erupted in Moreno Valley on Friday.Named the “Rabbit Fire,” the brush fire is located near the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Jack Rabbit Trail, in the community of Lakeview. It was initially reported as 20 acres with a rapid rate of spread just shortly before 4 p.m. The flames later spread to around 600 acres by 6 p.m. before exploding to 1,500 acres around 7 p.m., Cal Fire officials confirmed. By 7:30 p.m, the fire grew to around 2,815 acres. Zero percent containment is reported so far.Located in a grass and brush-heavy area, a private ranch property is being threatened by the moving flames.
